Could anything be better than travelling with friends? A long way full of talks passes swiftly as the head wind. Every stop at a roadside cafe becomes more valuable than evening in a city restaurant. So, we gladly accepted the invitation of our best friends – Yaroslav and Jenny – to make a weekend trip to the autumn coast. The journey was promising for sure.
These four days were like a sunshine among the grey autumn days, as we discovered another side of the peninsula, which was unexpectedly vivid. We were greeted by deserted beaches and sleepy towns, empty in off-season. But the place didn't seem abandoned. All around became even more colorful and full-blooded. Dry southern landscape flushed with the shades of autumn palette. The sea, lacking its summer visitors, turned up the sole host of the coastline, filling the space with the only melody it knows – the sound of breaking waves. Even the forest seemed alive: the slightest breath of the wind set thousands of fiery leaves on dancing. We stopped at every turn to catch a glimpse of this beauty on film, so, it is little wonder that our path took twice more time than it should have taken. But time spent with friends is always stealing.
It’s hard to find real friends nowadays. Internet has simplified the communication and the number of acquaintances grows every day. That leads to devaluation of a hearty talk and now we prefer to keep people at a distance, dissociating our personal sphere by self made private dome. And just like drops of water, everyone coming across us drips down the dome's smooth walls, leaving no trace in our hearts. But there are people who could break this dome from the first word and you feel that it is not just another casual acquaintance. You find common interests at once, than share life outlook, than meet more often and your relations go from fitful to permanent. This is how friendship begins. These are the people who are the best companions in any journey, no matter where it goes – in a nearby town or another side of the world. Every kilometer of the road, every day on the way will strengthen your friendship.
