It was a pity that we couldn’t share our winter honeymoon trip to the Faroe Islands with the people we love most. Therefore, as the warmth had come, we decided to organize a wedding party for our family and best friends.
We didn’t plan a large-scale luxurious event, we wanted to make a small and cozy evening instead, spending the day in the company of the loved ones. In addition, we wanted to be surrounded by the nature, to breathe the forest and run barefoot through the grass. As it turned out it’s almost impossible to find such a place near Moscow. Almost. At the end of last year we were lucky to know a camping called “Les i More“. The guys decided to create a truly unique project for us. They set up an incredibly cozy and beautiful place on Volga River– in the middle of the island with spacious tents decorated with garlands, dinner prepared by a chef and the beds warmed up for the night.
When we arrived at the camp and felt the atmosphere, we understood that we found what we were looking for and that the weekend was going to be perfect. Away from timing and limiting our wedding by a few hours in a conventional restaurant, we spent the weekend in absolute peace and calmness on a private island surrounded by the beloved people and pine forest. We started the morning with a lazy breakfast that was smoothly bridged to the lunch with breaks to walk around, play games or just stretch out and sleep in hammocks on the shore of the river. And in the evening, after a small wedding ceremony, where Anastasia and I told each other the most important words in our lives, we had a wonderful dinner lit by the garlands followed by a chat near the fireplace under the stars. That's why that weekend was perfect. When you find yourself away from the city, you stop paying attention to the trifles; instead, you start to appreciate simple things – a delicious dinner, an evening at the fireplace with a mug of hot tea, a soft, warm bed in a tent that looks more like a small house that we’ve all dreamed of as children. You appreciate the shared joy, heartful conversations, happy smiles and, at some point, you feel an overflowing happiness and realize that you didn’t have to cross the globe or try to organize something big to make your wedding day special. And you are happy here because you know that having less can bring you more.
